Mermaid Receives 2009 Chevron Thailand Award For Outstanding Contractor And Outstanding Crew

In light of the recent increased focus on high standards of safety and performance in the offshore oil and gas industry, Mermaid Maritime Public Company Limited ("Mermaid") is pleased to advise that its wholly owned subsidiary, Mermaid Offshore Services Ltd. ("MOS"), a leading provider of subsea services to the offshore oil and gas industry, has recently been awarded the 2009 Chevron Thailand Award for Outstanding Contractor and Outstanding Crew (MOS Performer for ROV Pipeline Inspection and MOS Supporter for ROV Platform Inspection).

The Outstanding Contractor Award was based on an "A" rating for health, safety and the environment, 2009 Chevron incident free status and the provision of services to Chevron Thailand greater than 50,000 hours. The Outstanding Crew Award was based on crew having worked on incident free operations (IFOs), performance with zero recordable incidents, behavioural based safety (BBS), having job safety analysis (JSA) in place and used, participation at Chevron safety meetings and great housekeeping.
